To all parents and staff of Kingsbridge Community College. Update on the COVID-19 strain of coronavirus – Wednesday 4th March 2020
Thank you very much for your continued support and all of the contact that we have had from you appreciating the communication that we have been able to give.
Despite individuals’ best efforts to chase their pending test results, no further test results have been issued. No new cases of self-isolation have been reported to us. Therefore, we are still waiting test results of two members of staff and two students who remain in self-isolation. We will update you as soon as we are able to.
Pupil Absence Current advice to schools from the Department for Education is that if a pupil’s absence follows the isolation guidelines laid out by Public Health England (i.e. they have had close contact with an infected person or they have returned from a category one area) then the absence will be authorised. If the absence is not in line with this advice, then it will not be authorised.
The importance of hygiene Personal hygiene is the most important way we can tackle COVID-19. Please help us in sharing simple and effective hand hygiene messages.
Wash your hands more often than usual, for 20 seconds using soap and hot water, particularly after coughing, sneezing and blowing your nose, or after being in public areas where other people are doing so. Use hand sanitiser if that’s all you have access to.
To reduce the spread of germs when you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, or your sleeve (not your hands) if you don’t have a tissue, and throw the tissue away immediately. Then wash your hands or use a hand sanitising gel.
Clean and disinfect regularly touched objects and surfaces using your regular cleaning products to reduce the risk of passing the infection on to other people.
