Dear Parents and Carers
Let me start by thanking you for your support as we face the unprecedented challenge of defeating coronavirus. It is at times like these that we have to remember our core principles to help guide us through choppy waters. We are determined to do all we can as a school to continue to support the learning and wider needs of our children, and in particular to look out for the most vulnerable members of our school community.
A key to this is the setting and return of work using online platforms, and I am pleased that we have been able to make a good start this week. None of us know how long this will last, so we are trying as best we can to maintain coverage of the curriculum students would have been learning had they been in school. Your sons and daughters know how to use the online platforms to communicate with their teachers. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact firstname.lastname@example.org .
We will not be setting work over the holiday period.
Like you, we are doing everything we can to follow the Government’s instructions on social distancing and to stay at home if at all possible. We understand that this is a particular challenge for children and young people, and can only reiterate the Government’s advice to keep children at home if you can. We have contacted key workers who have no-one else to look after their children whilst they are at work providing essential services over the holiday period. We are very grateful to staff who have volunteered to make that happen. If your situation changes, please let us know by emailing email@example.com.
All things must pass, and we will return to normal schooling at some stage. I am confident that we will be all the stronger for having weathered this storm together.
I hope you and your family stay safe and well over Easter,
With best wishes,
